With certificate of conviction before two Justices of the Peace at Norton in the East Riding on 30 May 1874 of George Hartas for stealing one gallon measure of ale value 1s 6d, the property of Tom Barker, at the township of Leavening in the East Riding on 21 May 1874. Hartas was sentenced to hard labour at the House of Correction at Beverley in the East Riding for one calendar month. Certificate dated 28 December 1874
