With certificate of conviction at the Quarter Sessions for the East Riding held at Beverley on 8 April 1873 of James Ford for stealing three pairs of boots, one coat, one jacket, one waistcoat, and one pair of leggings, the property of Fennel Winter; and one pair of boots, the property of James Longden; and one pair of boots, the property of William Gardham. Ford, who had a previous conviction for felony by the name of James Carney at a Petty Sessions held Huddersfield in the West Riding on 24 February 1870, was sentenced to hard labour at the House of Correction at Beverley for 18 calendar months, and then to police supervision for five years.
