With certificate of conviction at the Quarter Sessions for the East Riding held at Beverley on 2 January 1877 of John Newton for breaking into the dwelling house of Thomas Summers in the parish of Stillingfleet in the East Riding on 25 November 1876 and stealing one gold watch and one silver watch, the property of the said Thomas Summers. Newton had previously been convicted of felony at the Petty Sessions held at York Castle on 6 February 1876. Newton was sentenced to hard labour at the House of Correction at Beverley for 12 calendar months and then to police supervision for five years. Certificate dated 2 April 1880 |
