With certificate of conviction at the Assizes held at York on 17 March 1875 of Charles Simpson late of the parish of Ormesby for breaking into the dwelling house of John Coates and stealing one pair of boots, the property of the said John Coates, at the parish of Ormesby on 24 September 1874. With a previous conviction having been proved against him, Simpson was sentenced to penal servitude for seven years. Certificate dated 27 June 1881
