With certificate of conviction at the Police Court in the Corporation Hall in the borough of Middlesbrough on 14 October 1878 of Joseph Simmonds of the borough of Middlesbrough labourer for stealing 12 pairs of boots and other articles value £3 5s, the property of Robert Robson of Stockton in county Durham shoemaker, at the borough of Middlesbrough on 11 October 1878. Simmonds was sentenced to hard labour at the House of Correction at Northallerton for six weeks. Certificate dated 2 January 1882.
