With certificate of conviction at a court of summary jurisdiction held at Leyburn on 6 May 1881 of Edward Bell for stealing three feather pillows value 3s, the property of Mary Chapman, at the township of Askrigg on 30 April 1881. Bell was sentenced to hard labour at the prison at Northallerton for three calendar months, beginning at the end of his imprisonment for a previous conviction to which he was committed on the same day. Certificate dated 2 January 1882
