Certificate of conviction at the Quarter Sessions held at Northallerton on 19 October 1869 of William Plews for stealing two heifers, the property of James Cook on 8 September 1869 at the township of Bedale. Plews, with a previous conviction for felony, was sentenced to penal servitude for seven years and to be subject to the supervision of the police for seven years. Certificate dated 23 December 1887
