With certificate of the indictment at the 1876 Winter Assizes against David Ritson for breaking into the dwelling house of James Tipple in the parish of Stranton in county Durham at about 11 o'clock at night on 22 August 1876 with intent to steal. Ritson had previously been convicted of felony on 15 May 1876 at the borough of Stockton in county Durham. Annotated "Sentence 15 calendar months hard labour"
