| Description | Bill of indictment of James Duffield for obtaining 10s in money from Sarah Edmondson wife of George Edmondson tenant of a farm at Atley Hill near Cowton. Duffield had falsely pretended that he had been sent by Thomas Inman Earle, the owner and landlord of the farm, to put a pump down and the pump was at Cowton railway station and payment was due for carriage
