Reciting deed of 13 December 1682 [Mortgage by Sir John Sydenham to Earl of Leicester: ZF 2/14-15] And that the £4000 was not paid And reciting that Sir John Sydenham has agreed to sell to Charles Godfrey for his life an annuity of £200 for the sum of £1900, secured by a moiety of the manor of Hackness and premises as in recited deed, the whole manor being of the yearly value of £1000 and of sufficient value to secure the £4000 and interest growing and due to the Earl and also the above annuity upon a moiety of the same
Now for £1900 paid by Godfrey to Sir John Sydenhain, the latter directs and appoints that the Earl shall stand and be possessed of one moiety of the manor for residue of the 1000 years term, in trust so that Charles Godfrey may receive the £200 annuity and that the £4000 and interest owing to the Earl shall be only charged on the other moiety Proviso that if Sir John Sydenham secures the payment of the £200 annuity on other lands to the value of £350.. the deed shall be void
