DescriptionOrdains that this is to be a distinct will from any other, formerly made respecting his own estate and effects, but to be taken as a codicil thereto so as in no way to alter the same
Reciting will of Charlotte late Marchioness of Annandale, dated [blank day of blank] 1754 [Evidently her first will dated 2 May 1754 q.v.]
and that testator is the surviving devisee in trust named in the will
Now to prevent the inconvenience that may arise by the trusts devolving on his heirs at law, and getting mixed with his own personal estate, he devises
To Sir William Ashurst Kt one of H M Justices of the Court of King’s Bench

all manors, advowsons, messuages, farms, mills, woods, lands, tenements etc. in Yorkshire, Berkshire, Kent, Middlesex and Lincoln, and all other realty

which were by will of John Vanden Bempde devised in trust and by will of Charlotte Marchioness of Annandale deceased were devised to Charles York, William Belasyse, Timothy Carr and Joseph Godfrey, upon trusts

Habendum to Sir William Ashurst, upon trusts as specified in John Vanden Bempde’s will
And as to the sum of £36,503 15s 3d or remainder of same, secured by several adjudications, and other securities affecting the now Marquess of Annandale by orders of the Court of Chancery, and manors and estates charged with the same, and testator’s right and interest therein and in and to all other personalty of John Vanden Bempde, as surviving devised
Devises and bequeaths same to Sir William Ashurst to uses as limited in John Vanden Bempde's will
