The Thompsons agree that the costs allotted to them and the other defendants, in a former suit to a bill of Sir Thomas P Hoby in the Court of Star Chamber and ordered to be paid to them by a decree at York out of the revenues of the Corporation of Scarborough shall be relinquished, and the benefit of the decree waived except concering their charges in attending the Judges upon the reference agreed upon at Malton, 2 April 1632 Richard and Timothy Thompson also agree that Sir Richard Hutton Kt one of the Justices of the Court of Common Pleas, shall have the perusal of the charters and custom of the Corporation of Scarborough, and have power to set down orders for election of officers and future government of the Corporation All suits between the parties to cease Power to nominate someone in place of Sir Richard Hutton, should he die before any award or be too ill to proceed etc |
