Order dated 12 January 1835 that the expenses of maintaining Anna Maria Thicket [sic] from 6 July 1834 to 6 January 1835 should be paid by the Treasurer of the North Riding. Anna Maria reputed wife of the late John Thicket is a foreigner whose place of settlement could not be ascertained, and was by an order dated 30 March 1815 confined in the house of Mr James Martin at Gate Helmsley, which was licensed for the reception of lunatics at a time when no asylum for pauper lunatics existed in the North Riding |
