| Description | Presentment of the highway from Richmond to Askrigg partly in the extra-parochial place called St Martin's and partly in the parish of Catterick beginning 100 yards from the landstall at the south end of the bridge at Richmond to the end of 100 yards commencing from the landstall at the north end of Sandbeck Bridge, being 200 feet in length and 20 feet in width, which have been in disrepair since 27 October 1799
Thomas Simpson as owner and occupier of land adjoining the highway called Earls Orchard, John Yorke esquire, William Thompson, Thomas Cambage, Thomas Wright, John Lorrimer, Robert Westgarth, George Atkinson, Robert Dawson the elder, Robert Dawson the younger, Henry Fisher, Joseph Hawkins and Robert Hodgson as tenants of Kirby Hill Hospital lands lying near the west side of the highway , Richard Cooper Alderson and Joseph Harland as tenants of Kirby Hill Hospital lands and other lands called Dixon Lands lying near the said roads, and Simon Barker as tenant of the countess of Ormond, by reason of their tenure of land in the parish of Catterick, ought to repair 190 feet in length and 20 feet in width of the highway, namely 10 feet in length and 20 feet in width extending from the end of the said 100 yards from the south landstall of Richmond bridge to the gate leading to the mill house, the property of Thomas Simpson, and 180 feet in length and 20 feet in width extending from the south west side of the turnpike gate called Holyhillgate to the end of the 100 yards from the north landstall of Sandbeck Bridge
Henry Peacock, John Cooper, Henry Thwaites, William Thompson, Martin White, Margaret Moss and Joseph Coates as tenants of land under the Revd Francis Blackburn clerk adjoining the east side of the road, William Mason, Alexander Smith, John Strangwayes, Joseph Harland, Henry Fisher, John Bishoprick, Joseph Harker, John Kempson and William Hodgson as tenants of land under the Revd John Theakstone clerk adjoining the east side of the road, by reason of their tenure of lands in the extra-parochial place [St Martin's] ought to repair 10 feet in length and 20 feet in width of the highway from the south-west side of the gate leading to the mill house to the said turnpike gate
