With certificate of conviction at the Quarter Sessions held at Northallerton on 14 October 1862 of Mary Ellen Allen late of the House of Correction at Northallerton for stealing two sheets, three pillow cases, one pillow, and one coat, the property of Robert Raine. Allen was sentenced to hard labour at the House of Correction at Northallerton for two calendar months. Allen was also convicted of stealing one shawl, the property of James Dakin, and was sentenced to hard labour at the House of Correction at Northallerton for a further two calendar months.
